Occasionally we will hold dogs back to sell as started dogs closer to the hunting season. This depends on capacity, and how many dogs are in training. If we do not have a started dog, we are always willing to offer consulting on anything related to retrievers and assist you with finding a started dog. Southfork will sell puppies on a started dog contract where we raise and train puppies for clients (standard training rates apply).

Griffey was our keeper puppy from the Miles x Taz litter and is now ready to find himself a hunting / family home. He is a sweet dog that is started on obedience, collar conditioning, and loves to retrieve on land and water. He is still learning to swim and does the puppy paddle, but loves to retrieve nonetheless! Griffey will be best suited as a gundog, as we do not feel he is a prospect for Finished or Master level hunt test work.
He is currently in Force Fetch, but as for being a hunting partner is a very natural retriever already and delivers to hand. While he has been in the house, he is primarily a kennel dog and would need to go through a crate training and house breaking phase in his new home situation. He is clean in a crate and on the trailer, but will mess his full size kennel.
Without question, this boy is smart and capable of being an amazing gundog companion. He gets along great with other dogs and all people.
Griffey is priced according to his level of training. We have housed and raised him for his entire life and put in a lot of work training him to this point. $4000
